Brownfields

TerraGraphics has been assisting with the development of contaminated sites for 20 years. Prior to the recent Brownfields program, TerraGraphics developed a philosophy of development through remediation and remediation through development. This philosophy has been successfully implemented in our projects to:

  • Protect the Environment Addressing brownfields to ensure the health and well-being of people and environment,
  • Promote Partnerships Collaborating and communicating are essential to facilitate brownfields cleanup and reuse,
  • Strengthen the Marketplace Providing financial and technical assistance to bolster the private market,
  • Sustain & Reuse Redeveloping brownfields to enhance a community’s long-term quality of life,
  • while at the same time saving our clients money by incorporating cleanup efforts into the development planning process.

TerraGraphics successfully assists clients from the initial grant writing and submittal to the final sustainable redevelopment phase of their projects.

The four types of EPA brownfields funding:

  • Assessment Grants provide funding for Brownfields inventories, planning, environmental assessments, and community outreach.
  • Revolving Loan Fund Grants provide funding to capitalize loans that are used to clean up brownfields.
  • Cleanup Grants provide direct funding for cleanup activities at certain properties with planned green space, recreation, or other nonprofit reuses.
  • Job Training Grants provide environmental training for residents of brownfields communities.

No matter what the funding mechanism, TerraGraphics has the experience and technical skills to assist social and economically depressed community in challenging multi-stakeholder projects where environmental issues are preventing potential redevelopment and economic stimulus.
