Engineer I-II, Engineer-in-Training, Boise. 09-Eng-6.
TerraGraphics has an open position for an Engineer I-II, Engineer-in-Training (EIT), in our Boise, ID office. We are seeking a self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented candidate who can work well on a team and independently in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities:

  • Design projects such as landfills, stormwater pollution prevention systems, channels, dams, low-volume roads, and geomembrane liners. Oversee assessment and construction of projects.
  • Collect and evaluate field data, estimate costs, personnel, and material needs, establish completion dates, and prepare design documentation, proposals, and reports.
  • Perform geotechnical engineering analyses and evaluate respective data for environmental remediation systems.
  • Design environmental remediation systems.
  • Interact with Agencies to acquire permits and approvals.
  • Responsible for schedule and budget management for assigned work activities.
  • Perform job functions under immediate supervision of a Professional Engineer.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related engineering field. Masters a plus.
  • 0-5 years of experience designing stormwater management facilities, geotechnical aspects of earthen facilities and/or environmental remediation systems such as landfills, water treatment systems, or hazardous waste remediation systems.
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a civil/environmental engineering field.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook), Internet Explorer, etc. and AutoCAD.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; and demonstrated ability to prepare technical reports.
  • Valid driver’s license, with clear record preferred.
Full-time; benefits (inc. 401K/profit share after eligibility period). Pay rate equivalent to $18-25+/hr depending on experience and abilities.

Geologist / Environmental Scientist. 09-Sci-6.
TerraGraphics is seeking a Mid - Level Geologist or Environmental Scientist for a position in our Helena, MT office.
Responsibilities:
Duties may include: risk assessment; Phase I, II, and III site assessments and investigations including drilling and well installation; data analysis and report production; project management; client communication; etc. Field work will be necessary, and generally requires a valid driver license and clear driving record.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Scientific degree from an accredited university or equivalent amount of education and work history
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Significant project management experience, from inception through completion
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; including the ability to work well with clients and all levels of internal management and staff
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Supervisory or team leader experience
  • Strong computer skills, with competency in common software programs
Other Desirable Qualifications:
  • Advanced computer skills (e.g., MS Excel, Word, Access, Project)
  • Masters Degree and/or Professional Geologist Certification a plus
  • Drilling / well installation / SVE experience a plus

Engineer I-II, Engineer-in-Training, Helena. 09-Eng-5

Senior Civil/Environmental Engineer- PE/Project Manager. 09-Eng-4
TerraGraphics is offering an exciting opportunity for a qualified professional located in our Helena, MT office, but also working with our well established offices in Boise, Kellogg, and Moscow, ID and Spokane, WA. We have been serving our clients for 25 years with a staff of experienced, dedicated engineers and scientists. We are interested in motivated, innovative project managers who thrive in an exciting, fast-paced team environment and can help guide the company’s future in the region. The successful candidate will be in a position to develop both their own career and the growth of the Helena office. TerraGraphics offers competitive salaries, a benefit package including a matching 401K plan and profit sharing, and flexible work schedules.
Work will focus on environmental/mine-site remediation and community redevelopment. Typical civil/environmental projects may include a mine-site remediation program, repositories, waste management planning, groundwater/surface water systems, and site clean-up within the context of CERCLA and RCRA guidelines. This position will also be responsible to manage four or more local engineering personnel. Field work may be necessary, and generally requires a valid driver license and clear driving record.
Required qualifications:

  • Specific experience should include engineering design and bid packages; regulatory compliance; report writing; construction oversight; and coordination with city, county, and state officials regarding project implementation.
  • The ideal candidate for this senior level position would have registration as a Professional Engineer in Montana or ability to obtain within six months.
  • 10+ years related experience, including 3+ successfully managing an engineering department and/or engineering projects/tasks in excess of $250,000.
Additional desired qualifications:
  • Masters degree in engineering preferred.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Access and SQL Server database programs a plus.

Database Administrator/Web Development. 09-DB-1.
TerraGraphics has an immediate opening to lead our Database group in our Moscow, ID office. Need self-motivated, versatile, enthusiastic candidate with strong organizational and analytical skills, passion for technology, and attention to detail, who can work well on a team and independently in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Project Managers to determine information needs and application requirements
  • Design, implement and document database architecture, applications and processes
  • Integrate closely with GIS applications
  • Make recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements to database systems
  • Perform both new development and maintenance tasks
  • Manage and analyze system performance and maintains system security
  • Other related duties as required
Required skills:
  • At least three years of experience with supporting databases and web applications
  • Experience using the following technologies: SQL Server 2000/2005, Microsoft IIS, ASP, ASP.Net
  • Solid ability to write Transact-SQL scripts (procedures, functions, triggers) and/or review scripts written by team members
Desired skills:
  • Familiarity with industry standards for database design and programming
  • Practical experience with programming knowledge of .NET, JavaScript and ASP
  • Experience with Revision Control Systems, MS Access, etc.
